theme night: the illusionist with a side of frites

To follow up on last week’s theme evening (Greek Salad plus Clash of the Titans) we are heading to Bethesda to see The Illusionist, which is up for best foreign cartoon or something. Mussels and frites are in order if the wait isn’t too long, otherwise it’s el classico margaritas at Guapos, f*** the theme.  This movie is based on a long lost screenplay of Jacques Tati and drawn by the animators behind Triplets of Belleville. Might seem like an extravagant evening for someone possibly on the verge of a furlough but I read an article in the Post today that says a government shutdown “probably won’t happen,” so IT’S ALL GOOD.
